The P&C Advisory Board

The Parents & Colleges’ Advisory Board is a diverse group of college recruitment and higher education professionals who share a singular passion: to help parents navigate the college consideration landscape and position their students for success in college. The Advisory Board reviews content presented on the Parents & Colleges website for accuracy, objectivity and relevancy to pre-college families such as your own. Board members are senior-level professionals in leadership roles on their campuses and within their organizations, and are not employees of Parents & Colleges.

Charles Farr

Charles Stephen Farr

Steve Farr is Vice President for Enrollment Services at Wesleyan College. He directs the college's admission and financial aid offices and develops the recruitment strategies that help inform and advise prospective students as well as their parents. He is also responsible for working with the Director of Financial Aid in developing and managing strategic financial aid plans which meet the needs of students and helping build international relationships. Farr has taught a variety of college courses in the fields of sociology and gerontology and held roles in both student enrollment and marketing at Mercer University. Farr's work in the fields of marketing and international programs has been recognized with more than 30 local, regional and national awards. Engaged in the community, he has served on more than a dozen boards or advisory councils and currently chairs two boards of directors.

Farr earned undergraduate and master's degrees from Baylor University and received an honorary doctorate from Ulyanovsk State University in Russia.



Garvel Kindrick

Garvel Kindrick

Garvel Kindrick is Vice President for Enrollment Management at Georgetown College, Georgetown, Kentucky. Kindrick has spent 25 year assisting students and parents as they work through the college selection process. In his role supervising the Offices of Admissions and Student Financial Planning, Kindrick is responsible for recruiting each freshman class and for retaining existing students to meet size, academic and revenue goals.

His previous roles included responsibilities for admissions direction and counseling, financial planning and institutional research at Georgetown, where he also earned his undergraduate degree in American studies. In 1999-2002, he directed the school's SACS re-accreditation and Self-Study work.

He is a recipient of two Graves Technology Awards and was recognized by the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.



Tisa Mason

Tisa A. Mason

Dr. Tisa A. Mason is the Vice President of Student Affairs at Fort Hays State University, where she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Student Affairs Division. Her oversight covers admissions, financial aid, academic advising, student health services, residence life, disabled student services, multicultural affairs, student government and other areas.

She has won numerous awards, including Outstanding Advisor at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she served as Dean of Student Life. Dr. Mason has been a frequent speaker at banquets and conferences, and she has presented on higher education topics at many conferences and meetings. From 1994-2004, she served as Executive Director of Sigma Kappa Sorority and Foundation, where she is also a Trustee.

Dr. Mason earned a Doctor of Education degree from College of William and Mary, a M.S. in education from Eastern Illinois University and a B.A. from Transylvania University.



Daniel Meyer

Daniel L. Meyer

Daniel L. Meyer serves as Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid at DePauw University. Meyer has thirty years of experience in college admissions and previously served as Vice President of Enrollment Management at St. Mary's College, Dean of Enrollment Management at St. Norbert College and Vice President for Enrollment at Albion College.

Meyer has served as a presenter at a number of higher education conferences and was treasurer of the National Catholic College Admission Association. He earned his B.A. in history, sociology and secondary education from Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and his M.A. in interdisciplinary studies (sociology) from the University of Texas at Tyler.



Kristine Stewart

Kristine Stewart

Kristine Stewart, Assistant to the Vice President for Parent Programs at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, is in her 14th year with Miami's parent programs. Parent clubs and associations have been a part of Miami life since very early in the twentieth century. Stewart's office administers the Parents Fund, offering grants to students, faculty and staff for student initiatives and travel and providing support to the Parents Council's activities and programs. A Miami graduate, Kris is also a founding board member of the Association for Higher Education Parent & Family Program Professionals (AHEPPP). In 2009-10, she will be working with a committee to write the Council for the Advancement for Higher Education (CAS) Standards for Parent & Family Programs.



Tracy Ward

Tracy Ward

During her time as Director of Student Retention at California Baptist University, Tracy Ward spearheaded the program development of the Academic Resource Center as it evolved from its origins as a tutoring center to its current level of service. Through the work of the ARC, Ward established an early alert and intervention system for students who are at-risk academically, a comprehensive learning community for students in CBU's nursing program, seminars for academic success and an ombudsman program related to navigation of institutional policies and processes.

In her current role as Dean of Academic Services, Ward continues to lead in assessing retention efforts. Her current research includes an investigation into the influence of social networking on student connectedness and degree persistence. Ward holds a B.S. from Stephen F. Austin State University as well as master's degrees from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and Azusa Pacific University.



Jayne Troy

Jayne B. Troy

Jayne B. Troy is the President and CEO of Jantro College Counseling. For the past 14 years, she has worked with high school students and parents in the Northeast in the college search and application process. Troy guides her clients carefully through the multi-step process of selecting colleges, compiling and completing applications, planning for the SATs/ACTs and preparing for the interview. Her students have been accepted to hundreds of highly competitive schools including Amherst College, Brown University, Colgate University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Tufts University, Brandeis University, and the University of Virginia. Troy earned her B.A. in education from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey.



Josh Bogard

Josh Bogard

Mr. Bogard is a high school guidance counselor at the Academy of Information Technology and Engineering (AITE) in Stamford, Connecticut. He is also currently a member of the steering committee for the Stamford Public Schools Annual College Fair and serves as a committee member of the Engineering College Fair at AITE. Through his association with Queens College, Mr. Bogard has moderated a number of Educational Hot Topic Debates at that institution. In his spare time, Mr. Bogard works with youths as a camp director. He graduated with a degree in sociology from Hofstra University and then earned a masters degree in counseling from Long Island University.

Andrew Solberg

Andrew Solberg, Vice President of Marketing at Full Sail University, has spent 17 years as an innovative educational leader for students interested in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. Solberg manages the team responsible for student recruiting, advertising and marketing. He brings to the Advisory Board a keen understanding of the college enrollment process, both from the student and the parent perspective, with a focus on ultimately empowering the student to make the best decision possible. Solberg is a graduate of Liberty University.
